About us.

In the years ‘ 90, Ron Bleize, together with Private Equity Partners, bought the niche player Coldec.
Coldec only produced colored particles that were processed as pigment in floors and paint. These color particles from Coldec remain visible in the end products and do not color like regular pigments, making the particles dominant in the final image of the product.

Bleize was able to quickly expand the playing field for Coldec Particles to 56 countries, by realizing direct deliveries to mayor producers. There was no room in Europe for emerging competition ans these usually left the playing field after a few years.
After the year 2000 growth came a standstill, Coldec depended on the development of its customers’ products. After an enthusiastic start, most customers were unable to live up to expectations.

In 2008, Bleize bought out its Private Equity partners and first decided to broaden the foundation of Coldec. At the end of 2011, he brought the French company Ideflex out of bankruptcy and relocated the company to the Netherlands after a successful restart. This gave Coldec access to producers of PVC floor coverings and Coldec is also the only producer in Europe in this case.

A second direction that was taken was the expansion of the range of decorative paint systems. Ended by a major German paint producer, Coldec introduced its first in-house paint in 2006, incorporating colored particles.
The German customer put this product on the market under his own name, followed by more customers. Here too, Bleize noted that the major players did not pay enough attention to their products on the shelf and suspected a short life cycle.

New paints were developed rapidly, but unlike the first product, these were saved for their own brand. The creation of Studio Coldec took place.

The birthplace for decorative paint products is in Italy. Italy has many relatively small players and products and the advantage of a large home market. In the Netherlands, the market for decorative paint products is virtually nil. The major paint players are dominant and systematically block every initiative.

In search of volume, Bleize came to China, where it has been active since the ’90. Following the trend ‘that what comes from Europe is better’, he started a franchise store concept for decorative paint products with a partner. This caught on.
By mid 2019 there are already more than 200 Studio Coldec stores in China and there are still 100 signed contracts that will be a physical store by the end of 2019.
Production for the Chinese market still takes place exclusively at Coldec in Vaassen. This gives Bleize its desired volume to also develop other markets.

Bleize is looking for a challenge in embracing innovation. Because of his conviction of online marketing, 100% is also fully committed to this. The Netherlands now has Decoverf.nl, the webshop for good and affordable paint. A webshop that focuses entirely on a target group with a adapted range. In contrast to competing web shops where this marketing focus is absent.

The different companies; Coldec Particles, Studio Coldec and Decoverf.nl are housed in the Coldec Group.
